My completed Evaluation for my Media Magazine

What i have changed in my Final Design

I have changed my Contents page layout completley, I have changed it to a  newspaper collum format which I feel looks better and consumers would be more familiar with this layout. I have also changed my Front page where I have added a small black bar at the bottom of the page and put artists name and a competiton chance. I used this to lure people into reading my magazine. I also changed some of the cover lines and Changed the style of the font and the title. Overall from the start of my coursework I feel that as I have done extensive research throughout the process i have been able to apply what I have learnt and produce a magazine capable of a good standard and would be able to sell in a newsagents or other stores.

Final Double page

This is the Final design for my Double page Spread. I changed my original idea of having a large image and then having text like I produced as a first draft before. I went back and looked at current magazines and their interviews, i noticed that this layout and format of text on the page plus lots of small images was the way forward. So i experimented trying to get the text into collums and placing it around the images.

 

 

 

 

 

Final Contents page

This is the Final design for the Contents page for my magazine. I think that by adding a picture to the contents page and making it a Double page is better and the writing sits better without a picture behind it. I believe that the contrast in font colour like the front page works well and the most important words stand out like they should.

My final design for the page is exactly what i planned but is a double page instead. It carries the same layout but the picture and text is seperated onto different pages. I felt that the page looked better that way as it is easier to read and if it was on one page then the text would overlap the picture and it didn't look right.

Final Front Cover

This is the Final design for my Music Magazine,
I am very happy with how it has turned out and it is how i planned it to be from the start. I believe that the Cover Lines and Headlines have been placed accordingly and look great. The Masthead isnt to large and is proportionate to my created Logo. I added a small Lure at the top to back up my magazine and make it sell more.

I believe that the contrast in colours works well and that the words that stand out I have put in red to attract the readers attention and make them want to read my magazine.

Overall I think the image links to my theme very well and it contradicts the title because a white artist in a suit isnt the stereotype for a Rap artist.
Black males are the usualstereotype wearing clothing that makes them look 'gangster' and where they come from is usually the main focal point of their music. The 'Ghetto' is where most artists hail from and write music about the streets and how that they have changed themselves. But my magazine shows that someone can come from any background and lifestyle to achieve what they want.

Magazine Publishing Institutions

I have produced a Powerpoint Presentation on the top two Media magazine Publishing Companies - Bauer Media and IPC. I have used their websites to gain information about what they do and what they want to achieve aswell as their Brands which include the likes of Q and NME.

UPDATED versions of my tasks

I have updated and improved my pages in my created magazine to make them look better.

I completely changed my double page because i had taken some other photos in a recording studio and I thought that they would look better.
I have placed the text around the subject of the image, with white boxes so that the reader can see it clearly. I still believe that i need to make changes to both of these pages and I will continue to use my research to the best of my ability to create a magazine worthy of going onto a shop shelf.

Double page spread 1st draft

This is my 1st draft for my Double page spread. I have used the same effect for my pictures all the way through my magazine. i have used red and black text to link in with the logo colours and title colours of my magazine. It is also this colour to distinguish the two seperate dialogs of the interview.

I am pleased with the layout of this first draft but I feel that with the text and image apart it distinguishes space and makes it easier for the consumer to read. i think that having a quote from the interview and highlighting the important word makes the consumer want to read the article.

Contents page 1st draft

This is my Contents page 1st draft that i have produced in Photoshop. I feel that a large/wider image was a better option because it gives me more space to work with, this will allow me to put across all my ideas.

Magazine Front cover 1st draft

This is the 1st draft for my Media magzine Final piece, i have used black and white images to create the front cover. I feel that the black and white images look better and were easier to write ontop of.

I have used photoshop to create my magazine which is the best software to create a magazine. I have used all fonts and edits in photoshop and feel that they have worked.

To make my magazine better i think that i will use a different font or add a gradient to my magazine for greater effect.
